We headed south last week for our annual trip to Ponte Vedra, FL. The week was so fun, and not just because I practically had a live-in babysitter (or 2 or 3!).
Actually, little Miss Independent wanted nothing to do with her parents. Or Mimi and Papa, for that matter. It was all about the cousins! It was so fun watching her play with them. They were all so sweet to her... and so patient! Its fun watching how they each play with her in their own way. For instance, Thomas spent the better part of an afternoon pushing Leola around in a laundry basket.
Leola has so much fun with her daddy and its so great watching them having fun together. Daddys are different than mommys for obvious reasons, but just to name a few things the daddy in our family does that the mommy wouldn't dare attempt to do:
Toss a 32 pound child 4 feet into the air, which, by the way, is more than a Leola body length. I can barely lift her at all these days.
Take a toddler into the ocean. When a friendly neighborhood shark (6 feet long in my estimation but probably more like 3-4 in reality) decided to pay us a visit it was a very good thing that it was Bob and not me in the water with her. In fact, it was a good thing that this mommy wasn't in the water at all.
It was mostly just fun slowing down for a week and spending time with family.
